Vanilla Cacao Hemp Seed Milk recipe

Lately, I have been having fun making different nut and seed milks.  My favorite at the moment is a vanilla cacao hemp seed milk.  It is so easy to make and you don’ t have to strain it like nut milks.
Look at the benefits of hemp seeds:

One of the most important features of hemp seed is that it is a superior source of protein. It is easily digestible and it also contains a wide variety of minerals and vitamins, but its most distinctive property is that it provides both omega-6 and omega-3 essential fatty acids, or EFAs. These acids are known as linoleic and alpha-linolenic, respectively. What makes these essential oils crucial is that they are not manufactured in the human body, and must be consumed as food. Hemp has an optimal ratio of these two fats at 3:1.

I use hemp seeds daily in my diet in the usage of salads, smoothies, tonics, and mostly in this lovely milk.  Fabulous tasting beauty food.  My skin responds beautifully when I am consistent with intake of hemp seeds in my diet.

Vanilla Cacao Hemp Seed Milk

Recipe:

  • 3 cups water
  • 1/3 cup hemp seeds
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla bean powder or 1 TB. vanilla extract
  • Stevia (NuNaturals brand) to taste
  • 1 to 2 TB. of raw Cacao or Carob powder

Combine all ingredients in Vitamix  and turn on high for about 30 or so seconds till creamy.

Pour into a sealed glass container and refrigerate for using in smoothies, tonics, coffee, tea or just drink it straight up.

It’s delicious!  My husband loves it in his morning coffee along with 1 TB. of coconut oil.

    I love raw food. My current goal is to be 2/3rds raw in 6 months. Growing up in the south, It’s a tough transition. I’ve had many cooked food relapses, but today I want to make a fresh start for the better and raw mylks is my motivator!

      Thanks for stopping by and reading article AND sharing it out! Don’t stress yourself out about it. Take it gradually and in no time, you’ll notice the smooth transition and your choices. I am high raw but still eat cooked food when I want to or my body tells me to – no big deal. Just listen to your body – it may want cooked (veggie is best) and that’s OK. Just choose high quality veggie based meals and you’re good to go and will digest easily and efficiently. I will have MANY more raw meals and veggie cooked meals coming shortly.
